Integral to Digital Axle's philosophy is the firm belief that it is virtually impossible for any one organization to have a fix on the myriad of derivatives of interactive marketing. In our view, the large general advertising agencies that claim to have this fully covered are, for the most part, half a mile wide and half an inch deep. Many marketers choose to stay with these inadequate generalists because it is convenient to do so, especially when Web spending is not yet a major portion of their budgets. As web spending as a proportion of overall marketing dollars grows, we believe the lack of expertise will begin to tilt the scales against the generalists.
Digital Axle was born, in part as a solution to this burgeoning problem. We know, because we've spent considerable time meeting with them, that there are highly focused expert and specialist companies that focus solely on one or two important verticals such as search or analytics. Our goal is to assemble a network of best of class service providers in each of these disciplines so that our clients have access to the most up to date and focused recommendations and executional capability.
With these partnerships, our marketers are assured of access to experts in their field rather than generalists struggling to keep current with an insurmountable pace of change and innovation.
