BRUCE CARLISLE, FOUNDER
Bruce Carlisle's twenty-six year career spans a broad spectrum of communications disciplines including advertising, PR, promotions, broadcast news and sports production, direct response and interactive marketing.
In 1996, Bruce co-founded and served as President, CEO, and Chairman
of the Board of SF
Interactive
, one of the nation's first full-service interactive marketing
agencies. As the fastest growing privately-held company in the San Francisco
Bay Area*, SFI serviced a wide variety of national clients including major
technology players such as Cisco, VeriSign, HP, Netscape and Microsoft,
as well as consumer focused companies including Snapple and Morgan Stanley
Online. The company grew from zero to $12 million in annual revenue in
four years, prior to taking outside investment. In March 2003, his agency
was purchased by Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners, a Sausalito based
marketing communications agency, where Bruce served as President until
March of 2004.
Prior to conceiving SF Interactive, Bruce had an 18-year career in advertising and corporate communications. He has worked as Director of Online Marketing at Working Assets (1995-1996), a direct marketing-based telecommunications company in San Francisco, and in Media Services and Account Management at major New York agencies including: Ogilvy & Mather, McCann Erickson, Grey Advertising, and Della Femina, McNamee.
Bruce is a 1978 graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. He is actively involved as an alumnus of the University having served a past term on the Alumni Council and this year as Post-Reunion Giving Chair. Bruce, his wife Dorian, and their two children live in Marin County, where he spends as much of his leisure time as possible on his bicycle.
