Offer me, Offer You, Offermatica

We met with our neighbors from Offermatica this morning to see the latest set top tool for optimizing response.  We liked it so much, we’re signing a referral deal with them.  The software allows web sellers to A/B and multivariate test landing page conversion rates with multiple graphic and text elements in the same page.  The technology is one more nail in the coffin of the old time, top down ,God on the Mountaintop creative directors who wants to use "Because I have deemed it thus" as their rationale for selling design to clients.  Now the marketplace designs even the landing page.  And the ad, and the messaging, and the product…………..  Democracy in marketing –Such a scary thing.

Universally Panned

Universal Announced a deal with Spiral Frog to offer free music that got us all hard/wet and excited for about five minutes.  Essentially Universal is planning to offer up its entire music catalog for free on a site supported by advertising.  That sounded good until we read boingboing and learned about all the DRM and Spam and hassle that comes with it. Of course, we looked on the Universal Music site for the official announcement and it turns out they are even worse at keeping their site up to date than this blog. Ulp. So let’s get this straight.  If I’m a 17 year old working on buffing out my collection with free music, I’m going to opt for a) giving up PII, more spam and DRM files or b)Limewire?

First comment with the right answer wins a (DRM) free Doris Day MP3 from this site.
